Analysis of On-site Rapid Inspection Schemes for In-service Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment

Abstract

Under the global trend of energy conservation, emission reduction and green travel, the number of in-service electric vehicle charging equipment in China has grown rapidly. By the end of August 2025, it had exceeded 17 million. However, problems such as natural aging, environmental erosion, improper maintenance and traditional detection methods (with a large number of devices, long time consumption and ignoring scene differences) have led to a decline in their safety and operational efficiency. This article takes the on-site rapid inspection of in-service electric vehicle charging equipment as the core and combines the current investigation situation in many places in Guangdong and Guangxi. Firstly, it clarifies the equipment classification and typical problems. Furthermore, sort out the three major inspection items (site selection and civil engineering standards, power supply interaction safety, and equipment body safety) under multi-dimensional scenarios (residential areas, roads, public areas), and design a rapid inspection plan based on standards such as NB/T 33004—2020 and GB/T 27930 (including data verification in the preparation stage and group collaborative inspection in the on-site stage). This solution has been applied in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other regions, which can efficiently identify potential hazards, ensure charging safety, and provide support for the subsequent formulation of standards and the research and development of intelligent equipment.
